HORSPATH will get the chance to show their Twenty20 prowess again this summer in the Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire Cup.
The club have enjoyed notable success in the shortest form of the game over the last decade, winning the Oxon Cup in 2013, 2014 and 2018 as well as claiming the 2016 Wilf Bennett Trophy and reaching the 2017 Home Counties Premier League T20 finals day.
Winners: Shahbaz Ali and Will Eason in 2018 |
The Oxfordshire Cup celebrates its 50th anniversary this summer, and Horspath have been placed in Pool 3 alongside Cumnor, Didcot, East Oxford, Oxenford and Oxford.
Regionalised groups have been retained by the Oxfordshire Cricket Board given the ongoing uncertainty due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the hope of returning to more tiered pools from 2022.
The sides play each other once, with Horspath's first game due to be at Cumnor on Tuesday, May 25. Quarter-finals have been introduced this summer with the top two teams from each of the four pools going into the last eight of the Bernard Tollett Oxon Cup and the third and fourth-placed sides going on to compete at the same stage of the Wilf Bennett Trophy.
The finals of both competitions are scheduled to take place at Wormsley on Saturday, September 18.
