YOUNG opener Chris Batten hit a superb unbeaten 81 as Horspath 4th coasted to a nine-wicket win at home to Charlbury 2nd in Cherwell League Division 7.
Having restricted Charlbury to 205-9 after putting the visitors in to bat, Horspath chased down the runs in style. Fourteen-year-old Batten clocked up his second league half-century as he shared an impressive second-wicket stand with John Perkins (65no) to take Horspath to victory at 208-1 with 10.4 overs to spare after George Crawford had made 27.
Earlier, an in-form Elliot Ward (4-33) and Hayden Moon (4-51) led the way with the ball in Charlbury's innings, while Batten picked up 1-28 as Andy Glass and Neil Fox made 53 apiece.
