STEPHEN Green blasted 73 to set holders Horspath on the way to a 13-run victory over Oxenford in a cracking Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire Cup Pool 3 clash at the Jesus College Sports Ground.

The opener, whose knock included 11 fours and two sixes, formed the spearhead in Horspath's 166-7 off 20 overs after they elected to bat.

He shared in a second-wicket stand of 61 with Darryl Brown (29) and a third-wicket partnership of 64 with Tom Coleman before falling to a spectacular one-handed catch by Dom Ashford on the mid-wicket boundary.

With Oxenford 70-5 off ten overs in reply, Horspath were on top, but a blistering sixth-wicket stand of 65 between Tom Partridge (35) and Tony Moss (28) put the game in the balance. However, after they fell the hosts reached the last over needing 19 for victory, and Will Robertson conceded just five to see Oxenford finish on 153-8.

Robertson bowled with good pace to return figures of 3-22, while there was a wicket apiece for Brown, Kyle Hopper, Will Eason and Luke Heritage.
