Horspath successfully overcame the first hurdle when defeating Challow and Childrey on Sunday in the Davidstow National Village Cup. Opting to bat first Horspath got off to a steady start with Harrison and Robbie facing some tight bowling from the Challow opening bowlers. Robbie fell with the score on 45 allowing Jimmy to the crease. He and Harrison became increasingly dominant as the pair compiled a match winning stand of 137. Harrison went on to complete a fine 105 whilst Jimmy fell on 50. There was time for a few blows from Millie and Pricey before the innings closed on 233 for 6 Jack and Pricey took three quick wickets between them to ensure that the Challow innings got off to a rocky start. However a fine stand between the captain Ryan Gordon [44] and Chris Warboys {25] looked to bring Challow back into the game. The spin combination of Lloyd and Jehan brought about their downfall and then put a stranglehold on the innings with Lioyd finishing with 3 - 23 and Jehan with 1-18. Skelley with 1-8 and Greeny with 2-2 wrapped up the innings in the 36th over on 140 Horspath are at home on the 15th to the winners of the Aston Rowant and Cumnor tie
