Horspath back in action with Stoke Green double-header

HORSPATH open their programme of pre-season friendlies with a double-header against Stoke Green on Saturday. 

The 1st XI are at home to last season's Thames Valley League champions, while the 2nd XI visit the Bucks club. Both games start at 12.30.

Batsmen Jimmy Phillips and Pete Ades are included in the 1st XI along with talented teenagers Alfie Turner, Josh Richardson and Joe Gibbs. Meanwhile, Jonty Hedges heads up a youthful 2nd XI. 

Stoke Green enjoyed a stellar campaign in 2021, with their title triumph allied to a terrific run in the Voneus Village Cup where they reached the semi-finals and were only denied a Lord's appearance by eventual champions Calmore Sports, from Hampshire. 

 

However, the season had a sting in the tail for the Bucks club when they were unfortunately denied promotion as they failed to meet the Home Counties Premier League criteria.
