Horspath set for Oxford Downs double-header on opening day

HORSPATH have a double-header with Oxford Downs on the opening day of the season after the Cherwell League released its fixtures for the 2022 campaign. 

May 7 start

While the 1st XI are at home to the Standlake-based club in Home Counties Premier League Division 2 on May 7 - as reported in an earlier post here - the 2nd XI are away to Downs 2nd in Cherwell Division 2. 

The 3rd XI, who have been promoted to Division 3A following a restructure of the league after finishing fifth in Division 4A, have a tough opener at home to Great Brickhill 2nd, who were champions of their section last season. 

 

The 4th XI, who have also gone up after the restructure, visit Wantage & Grove in Division 5C. 

 

On the following Saturday, the 2nd XI entertain Sandford St Martin, while the 3rd XI are away to Westcott, and the 4th XI are at home to Radley. 

 

The 2nd XI end the season at Shipton-under-Wychwood, while the 3rd XI are at home to Oxenford and the 4th XI travel to East Oxford 2nd.

Division 2: Challow & Childrey v Abingdon Vale, East Oxford v Brackley, Oxford Downs 2nd v Horspath 2nd, Sandford St Martin v Buckingham Town 2nd, Shipton-under-Wychwood v Bledlow Village.

Division 3A: Bletchley Town v Oxenford, Horspath 3rd v Great Brickhill 2nd, Stokenchurch v Westcott, Thame Town 2nd v Bledlow Ridge, Wolverton Town v Leighton Buzzard Town. 

 

Division 5C: Clifton Hampden v Challow & Childrey 2nd, Radley v East Oxford 2nd, Steventon v Wolvercote, Wantage & Grove v Horspath 4th, Wootton & Boars Hill v Dorchester.
