Horspath ready for Oxon Under Cup 19 defence and Feast day

HORSPATH are set to bring the curtain down on the 2021 season with two big days at the Recreation Ground.

The club's youngsters defend the Honey-'B' Trophy in the Oxfordshire Under 19 Cup Finals Day on Sunday - and then Horspath face the President's XI in the annual Feast match on Monday (11.15am).

Horspath were crowned 2020 Oxon Under 19s champions just two weeks ago with a thrilling one-wicket win off the last ball against Aston Rowant in the much-delayed final.

Now they take on Banbury in the 2021 semi-finals at 11am, while Hook Norton face Cumnor, with the final in the afternoon.

Horspath reached this year's finals day by topping Oxfordshire Under 19 League Pool 2 with Cumnor runners-up, while Banbury were second in Pool 1 won by Hook Norton.

Meanwhile, the club are delighted that the Horspath Feast match - widely regarded as the social highlight of the Oxfordshire cricket calendar - is back.

The traditional end-of-season fixture was cancelled last year after the Government banned social gatherings of more than six people as part of restrictions to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.
