Thomas and Heritage to the rescue for Horspath 2nd

HORSPATH 2nd's last pair of Alex Thomas and Luke Heritage salvaged a draw at bottom club Wolverton Town in Cherwell League Division 2. 

Having restricted the hosts to 176-8 after they had elected to bat, Horspath were facing defeat at 102-9.

But captain Thomas (17no) and Heritage held firm to see the visitors to the close at 121-9 and deny Wolverton a first win of the season. 

Horspath had been in early trouble at 10-2 before Rob Wight (47) and Alfie Turner shared a stand of 56 for the third wicket. But then the visitors collapsed in dramatic fashion with seven wickets going down for 36 runs as Glenn Dickinson (5-25) wreaked havoc. 

Earlier, Jehan Mohammed had taken 4-43 from 15 overs to rein back Wolverton after steady knocks from opener Ahmed Mujtba (44), Jamil Raja (42) and Ben Boddy (36), while Asad Rafiq took 2-48.
