Horspath to face Shipton in Oxfordshire Cup quarter-final

HORSPATH face a home quarter-final against Shipton-under-Wychwood in the Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire Cup after completing a perfect record in their Pool 3 games with a resounding eight-wicket win over Cumnor at the Recreation Ground.

Horspath are through to the last eight
With four dominant victories plus a concession from Oxford, Lloyd Belcher's side finished top of their section and will now take on Pool 1 runners-up Shipton in the week commencing July 12.

Horspath's attack did the damage again, bowling the opposition out for less than 100 for a third time as Cumnor crashed to 91 all out after electing to bat.

A run out sparked the visitors' dramatic collapse and with Max Smith taking 3-14, Cumnor were soon in disarray at 38-7 as young spinners Luke Heritage (2-19) and Josh Richardson (2-23) tightened Horspath's grip with tidy four-over spells.

Tailender Patrick Knightley (24) top-scored for Cumnor, before Belcher ended his battling knock to wrapped up the innings in the 18th over.

Elliot Ruff, with an unbeaten 43 off 24 balls, then powered Horspath to victory at 93-2 off just 10.4 overs. He hammered five fours and two sixes to complete the win in double quick time.
