Sanklecha to make Horspath debut in Home Counties T20

INDIAN all-rounder Anupam Sanklecha is set to make his eagerly-awaited Horspath debut against Oxford in the Home Counties Premier League T20 at Banbury tomorrow.

The 38-year-old Maharashtra star was due to play for the club last season, but the coronavirus pandemic meant those plans had to be shelved for a season as he remained in his homeland.

But, having arrived in the UK earlier this month and undergone quarantine, he has taken part in training at the Recreation Ground this week and is raring to go. 

Horspath face old rivals Oxford at 1.45 after Banbury have taken on Great Brickhill at 10.30. The two winners then meet later in the day with the successful side going through to Home Counties finals day. 

Horspath (v Oxford, at Banbury, 1.45): Belcher (capt), Coleman, Hussain, Ruff, Green, Sanklecha, Foster, Mohammed, Hawtin, Beer, Heritage.

Meanwhile, Horspath 2nd have a friendly at Thame Town 2nd, and Horspath 3rd entertain Corpus Christi Old Boys. The club complete the build-up to the league season with a friendly at home to Kidmore End on Sunday.
