Horspath open Home Counties season at home to Downs

HORSPATH will open their Home Counties Premier League Division 2 programme against Oxford Downs at the Recreation Ground on May 8 next year.

The league fixtures get under way on May 8

Lloyd Belcher's side were due to entertain the west Oxfordshire club in the first game of the 2020 league campaign before the scheduled fixtures were wiped out by the coronavirus pandemic.

The two sides eventually met at the Recreation Ground in September in a match played under the league's revamped pooled format with Downs coming out on top by 69 runs.

In the second weekend of fixtures next season, Horspath are away to Great Brickhill, while the club will host Wokingham in the final game of the campaign on September 4.

The opening day games will be preceded by the first two rounds of the Home Counties T20 competition on May 1 with the line-ups and venues to be arranged.
