Rayaan Dogar dazzles with maiden century for Horspath

RAYAAN Dogar has joined Horspath's growing band of maiden century-makers. The 13-year-old recorded the landmark score with an excellent 100 off 106 balls in the 141-run friendly win at home to United Oxford Hospitals on Sunday.

He hit 16 fours on the way to bringing up three figures for the first time with a boundary down to third man before retiring as Horspath posted 223-7 off 40 overs.

Chris Batten, another talented teenager who has been impressing with the bat for the 3rd XI in the Cherwell League this season, then showed he is also handy with the ball by taking 5-11 as Hospitals were bowled out for 82. There were also wickets for Saif Dogar (2-17) and Josh Cummings (2-20).

Rayaan is the second Horspath youngster in two weekends to make a maiden century after 14-year-old Christopher Hofen achieved the feat with exactly 100 against Thame Town seven days earlier.
