O'Connor's top knock in vain for Horspath 2nd

Dominic O'Connor made 96
SKIPPER Dominic O'Connor hit a superb 96, but it couldn't save Horspath 2nd from a 30-run defeat at Bledlow Village in Cherwell League Division 2.

Chasing the hosts' 245 all out after putting them in to bat, opener O'Connor led the way from the front with 12 fours in his 127-ball knock. He shared a fourth-wicket stand of 90 with Shahbaz Ali (45), but without further support Horspath were bowled out for 215 as David Pearce (3-22) and Matthew Pearce (3-41) shone for the hosts.

Earlier, Tom Moore (91) and James Hawkes (50) had provided the backbone of Bledlow's innings as Luke Heritage (3-45) and Liam Manley (3-48) got among the wickets for Horspath.

Horspath 3rd produced an excellent bowling display to record a 33-run win at home to Division 4 leaders Brackley.

Having posted 175 all out after being put in to bat, Horspath dismissed the visitors for 145. Mohson Rana (4-36) led the way well supported by Josh Richardson (3-50), Swapnil Kulkarni (2-28) and Stuart Berry, who bowled five maidens in his ten overs as he picked up 1-12.

Earlier, captain Craig Wharton (34) and Alex Thomas (33) put on 72 for Horspath's first wicket before the hosts were pegged back by Joshua Rowland (3-16) and Keith Cartwright (3-32).

Horspath 4th tumbled to a 94-run defeat at Witney Mills 2nd in Division 7.

The hosts made 221-9 off 45 overs after being put in to bat with Richard Tilley (57) top-scoring after openers Ross Morgan (42) and Steve Holford (37) had laid the foundations. Charlie Turner (3-36) was the pick of the Horspath attack, while Clive Ricks took 3-65, Harvey Shorter 2-22 and Robin Pykett 1-31.

Horspath were never in the hunt despite Adam Thompson's 46 as they were bowled out for 127 with Manamohan Pandurangan (3-30) to the fore for Mills.
