HORSPATH 2nd put their nightmare start in Cherwell League Division 2 behind them to record a five-wicket home win over Challow & Childrey.
Following ten-wicket defeats in their opening two games, Horspath got back on track by dismissing the visitors for 195 after they had elected to bat. Andy Cummings (3-14) and Liam Manley (2-33) quickly reduced Challow to 35-5.
Skipper Ryan Gordon led a recovery before three quick strikes from Kyle Hopper (3-34) left the visitors in dire straits at 86-8. But Gordon (63) and No 10 Mike Konschel (50) then added 87 for the ninth wicket, before the visitors were finally bowled out.
Opener Cameron Dockerill (42) and Hopper (29) shared a second-wicket stand of 59 to lay the foundations for Horspath's reply, before Stephen Green (44no) saw the hosts home at 199-5 with 2.3 overs to spare.

Horspath 3rd staged a valiant run chase before going down by 22 runs at Great & Little Tew in Division 4. Jack Belmont hit 112 to take Tew to 259-8 off 50 overs after they had chosen to bat, with Toby Parker (37) and Sam Barnes (32) providing steady support. Josh Richardson (2-40) was the pick of the Horspath attack, with Swapnil Kulkarni taking 1-36.
Skipper Craig Wharton (56) led Horspath's reply with Chris Jones (44), Kulkarni (32) and Dan Todd (27) all chipping in before they were bowled out for 237 as Sam Catling took 3-42.
Horspath 4th slipped to a six-wicket defeat at home to Wolverton Town 2nd in Division 7.
Captain Carl Thompson made 45 at the top of the order as the hosts were bowled out for 150 after being put in to bat. Paul Hicks and Harvey Shorter made 22 apiece late on to give Horspath something to bowl at as Glenn Dickinson (3-34) and Nicholas Saunders (3-35) did the damage.
However, it didn't prove enough with Wolverton cruising to victory at 151-4 with Max Stevenson (34no) seeing them home. Josh Cummings produced impressive figures of 1-7 from his six overs, while Robin Pykett picked up 1-33 and Hayden Moon's ten overs went at a cost of just 25 runs.
