O'Connor and Heritage star as Horspath 2nd win

DOM O'Connor hit 73 and Luke Heritage picked up four wickets in Horspath 2nd's 68-run win at Leighton Buzzard in Cherwell League Division 2.

The captain's innings, which came off 94 balls and included 13 fours, provided the platform for Horspath's 220-9 after he had chosen to bat first. O'Connor shared an opening stand of 92 with Jamie Stead (36), before Andy Roberts chipped in with 27 as Horspath were pegged back by Dan Scott (4-24).

However, Horspath's total proved more than enough thanks to an excellent bowling display. Buzzard were well placed at 70-1, but then they lost three wickets without addition to the total as Ryan Hicks (2-39) dismissed Phil Whatmore (36) and Scott in the space of two balls, before Stead ran out Gareth Benger. Despite 41 from Mark Burfoot, Heritage (4-45) and Andy Cummings (2-42) made sure there was no way back for Buzzard, who were bowled out for 152.

Faizaan Abbas hit his first half-century in Horspath 3rd's 68-run victory at home to Kimble in Division 5. Abbas made 56 and Nigel Coltman 55, before Jonathan Hedges contributed 25 as Horspath posted 198-7 after electing to bat, while Bradley Rose picked up 3-34.

Ed Oakley (2-13) made the early inroads into Kimble's batting, before Hayden Moon (1-29), Adrian Manger (4-21) and Jason Cardy (3-32) wrapped the visitors' innings up for 130, with only Rose (42) and Peter Dumbarton (35) providing any resistance. The win sees Horspath shoot up to fourth place.

Horspath 4th suffered a 103-run defeat against East Oxford 2nd in Division 7 at Lincoln College.

East Oxford made 255-7 after being put in to bat with Mughal hammering 105. Horspath were then bowled out for 152 with young Josh Richardson (35) top-scoring.
