OPENER Alex Thomas cracked his first half-century for Horspath 3rd as they drew at home to Kingston Bagpuize in Cherwell League Division 5.
He made 58 as Horspath closed on 159-6 in reply to Kingston's 239-8 after the visitors had been put in to bat. Dan Jones weighed in with an unbeaten 47 to see Horspath safely to the close. Toby Ricks shone in Kingston's innings with 114 as Ed Oakley picked up 3-36, Swapnil Kilkarni 2-47 and Adrian Manger 2-65.
Opener Robbie Eason and Jehan Mohammed made half-centuries in Horspath 2nd's draw at home to Didcot in Division 2.
Chasing Didcot's 262-8 after the visitors elected to bat, Horspath closed on 228-6. Eason hit 76 from 116 balls, with 15 fours, while Mohammed was unbeaten on 72 off 112 deliveries, which included 12 boundaries. They shared a stand of 121 for the fourth wicket, before Tyrone Eyles smashed 47 from 31 balls with three sixes and five fours. Despite his lively contribution, Horspath were unable to threaten Didcot's total.
Earlier, opener Adam Webb made 86 from 130 balls for Didcot with one six and 12 fours, while Karl Johnston chipped in with 49 and Elliot Matthews 47. James Stacey (2-39) and Eyles (2-42) led the way with the ball for Horspath, and there was a wicket apiece for Ryan Hicks, Mohson Rana and Mohammed.
