U17 v Abingdon Vale
An exciting game at Abingdon last night saw Horspath hold off the challenge of Abingdon Vale to secure an eight run win. The Horspath innings suffered from a bout of poor running between the wickets which resulted in Dominic O’Connor run out for 23 and Bilal Hamid for 22 when both were well set. Graham Beer was less culpable when his continuing rich run of form saw him run out for a hard hitting 51 whilst chasing quick runs at the end.
Abingdon were always in the hunt with Adam Spears leading the chase with 49. Dan Todd with 1-16 off 4overs, and Matt Henderson 0-20 off his four, did most to restrict the scoring rate with Kushy with two catches and a run out, leading the way in the field. It was his catching of Spears in the deep off Adeel Rehman that secured a narrow victory for Horspath.
