Cherwell League Records

The Cherwell League has recently published a series of statistical records covering the period from 1994 to 2012.  The records have been collated from data published in the Cherwell League Handbook and several Horspath players, past and present, feature in a number of the categories.

Highest Run Scorers
Rob Eason - 6,312 runs
The highest aggregate run scorer over the 19 year period is Martin Shepherd (Kingston Bagpuise) with 8,792 runs.  The highest Horspath player on the list is Robbie Eason, in 6th place, with 6,312 runs.  That's a fantastic achievement when you consider Robbie has played a number of seasons in the Home Counties and he still has a few years ahead of him.  The other Horspath players to feature in this list are: Derek Watts, 13th with 5,731 runs; and Graham Plested, 15th with 5,666 runs.

Most 50's
Martin Shepherd also tops this list with 57 fiftys but we have two players in the top 10 - Robbie Eason is 7th with 44 and Graham Plested is 9th with 39.

Highest Wicket Takers
Paul Jeacock - 429 wkts
The League's leading wicket taker is Trevor Spindler with 652 wickets for Bletchingdon/Wallingford. The highest ranked Horspath player is Paul Jeacock who is 14th, with 429 wickets.  Paul has also played a number of years in the Home Counties and of course many of these wickets were taken while playing for Bicester & NO. Other Horspath players featuring on this list include: Clive Ricks, 23rd with 362 (Cumnor & Horspath); Andy Cummings, 28th with 335; and Gordon Hamilton, 48th with 289.

Best Bowling Analyses
Over the years, 4 players have taken all 10 wickets in an innings.  The best bowling analysis by a Horspath player is Andy Cummings with 9 for 29 in 2011.
