Great Effort

Given the devastation that greeted us last Sunday [see photos below ] it took a great effort to turn that around in order to make this Sunday such a great success.

Thanks go to Oxford Marquees [with a particular mention for Neville] for restoring the canopy to its usual position and repairing the Village Hall roof.

Thanks to Jonah ,the Creeds, Gareth, Derek and Crendon Timber [not forgetting the Chairman for his advice] for repairing and painting the blitzed sight-screen.

Thanks to Graham, Richard and Derek for, most importantly, getting the ground fit to play. The Hamiltons and Creeds for the work they did to make the inaugural supporters’ lunch such a successful event.

Last, but not least, the players. Fantastic turn out on the Thursday evening to train on the few parts of the Ground above water. They got their reward with an outstanding display on Sunday with all facets of the game in excellent order.

Thanks must also go to Thame CC for getting a game on for the Saturday. There is no substitute for practice in the middle, as a ring rusty Aston Rowant discovered. Congratulations to all at Thame who have obviously worked hard and achieved a remarkable turn round on their ground over the Winter.
